A family adventure in a Cessna 170a 1951

A family adventure in a Cessna 170a 1951

I’ve spent many hours listening to Joe tell me about his fun trips he had in his Cessna 170, either by himself, with friends, his family or his youngest boy who himself became a pilot. Joe had a life full of adventures, and I always enjoyed his stories. He usually has a humorous way of telling them. For sure these stories inspired me to do the same with my family. I bought a Cessna 150 in 2015, and did one…

Grassroots Tour with the Rockcliffe compadres

Grassroots Tour with the Rockcliffe compadres

Aviation groups get mingled with their members being in different associations, and it is all the better reason to join more than one! Without really intending to, I’m now a member of four different pilots associations, and it’s all great fun to meet a variety of aviators! This being said, without being a Rockcliffe member, I know a few of them and therefore Nicole, a fellow female pilot, invited me to join them for the classic Rockcliffe Grassroots Tour that…

Be the change that you wish to see in the world

Be the change that you wish to see in the world

Not too long ago, it was the 2016 Woman in Aviation week (#WOAW16), a world-wide event where woman are invited to come forth and share their experience in aviation or experience flight in a light airplane for the first time, and more. Different events are taking place throughout the week. On March 12 I volunteered as a pilot, for the first time, to take girls up in the air to live their first experience of the joy of flying. Something…

Finding time to learn to fly as a mother

Finding time to learn to fly as a mother

I don’t remember exactly how I came across the Mommy Pilots group on Facebook, but I sure enjoy it. When I read an email asking for Mommy Pilot bloggers, I thought it would be another great way to get involved in the aviation community. Especially since I enjoy the discussions online. I’m a newly licensed private pilot and it is slowly sinking in that I’m a pilot as well as a mom, like those in the Mommy Pilots group. But…

Rockcliffe Air Rally 2013 : flying & playing mixed together

Rockcliffe Air Rally 2013 : flying & playing mixed together

Last September marked my first participation in the Rockcliffe Air Rally. Organised by the Rockcliffe Flying Club which I became a member in march of this same year. This rally was intended for the members of the flying Club as well as their friends and family. On the ground, you had to figure out some clues to be used to draw out the route to fly in the Ottawa region. Fortunately, so you don’t get lost nor cause any mid-air…
